Why should our church be a part of the Screven Baptist Association?

Here are a few good reasons:

  • it follows the pattern of New Testament churches that cooperated and fellowshipped together for the sake of the Kingdom of God (Acts 11:27; 15:1-35; I Cor. 16:1; II Cor. 8:1-5; 9:1-4; 11:9);
  • identifies you with like-minded Southern Baptist churches in this area;
  • gives you access to other churches and church leaders and members who can "sharpen" you and your church. (Proverbs 27:17)
  • gives you varied resources - including conferences, materials and personalized assistance for training and developing Christians and strengthening your church;
  • makes it possible for your members to participate in evangelism, mission and ministry opportunities, in this area and in other parts of the United States and the world;
  • keeps you focused on the needs, opportunities and blessings of other churches and mission fields;
  • keeps you abreast of recent developments in society, government, and the denomination developments that affect your church and its members;
  • and helps you increase you vision of the Kingdom of God, helping you and your church understand that the Great Commandments and the Great Commission are for the whole world.
